You can ask us to delete your Flotr account at any time, and you do not need the app installed to ask. This page explains how to do it, what we delete, and what we have to keep. Flotr is operated by Flotr travel tech.

Apps covered

  • Flotr, the app for travellers (Android package: ai.flotr.flotr)
  • Flotr Partner, the app for travel agencies (Android package: com.flotr.agency), and the Flotr agency portal

Delete a traveller account in the app

  • Open the Flotr app and tap You.
  • Tap Settings.
  • At the bottom, under Danger zone, tap Delete account, then tap Yes, delete everything.

Your account is deleted straight away and you are signed out.

Before you delete

  • Deleting your account does not cancel a booking. If you do not want to go on an upcoming trip, cancel it in the app first. Refunds follow our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
  • After you delete your account, you can no longer open your bookings or tickets in the app. A trip you have paid for and not cancelled still runs, so talk to the agency about it.
  • If you only want fewer notifications, you do not need to delete your account. Turn off "New trips and offers" in Settings. Messages about a booking you have will still reach you.

What we delete from a traveller account

As soon as you delete your account, we erase from it:

  • your name
  • your email address
  • your mobile number, which is replaced with a code that cannot be turned back into your number. You can sign up again later with the same number, as a new account.
  • your profile photo
  • your city and gender
  • the notification token for your phone, so our notifications stop
  • the medical notes saved on your phone, which the app clears when you delete the account
  • your live-location sharing for any trip, and any position you sent with an "I need help" tap

You are signed out and cannot sign back in to that account.

What we keep, and why

  • Booking and payment records. What was booked, the traveller details given for the booking (such as names, ages, pickup point and any emergency contact), what was paid and what was refunded, and the records of any part payments (instalments). Indian tax and accounting law requires us to keep these, and they are also the agency's records. We keep them for as long as that law requires.
  • Licence photo, ID number for a permit, shared medical note and blood group. If we still hold them when you delete your account, they are deleted within 30 days after the trip ends (a licence photo or ID number at once if the booking is cancelled), the same period as in our Privacy Policy. They are not deleted the moment you delete your account.
  • SOS records. An SOS you sent stays in our records. Its precise location is removed 7 days after the trip ends, unless Flotr recorded that emergency services were involved.
  • Messages, photos and reviews. Messages you sent (including voice messages) to an agency, in trip group chats, to other travellers or to Flotr support, and photos or videos you shared to a trip album, stay with the people you shared them with. Some of them can still show the name you had when you sent them. Reviews you wrote stay on the trip without your name. Write to us if you want any of these removed.
  • Your activity. Trips you saved, liked or asked about stay in our records without your name, number or email.
  • What you agreed to. A record of the terms and policies you accepted, and of any permission you gave an agency to use your trip photos, with the date. We keep this as evidence.
  • Your sign-in record. Google Firebase, which sends our one-time codes, keeps a record of the mobile number that signed in. Write to us if you want it removed.
  • Open matters. Anything needed for a refund, dispute or legal claim already under way, until it is settled.

Uninstalling the app removes what the app stored on your phone.

Delete your own Flotr Partner login

Anyone who signs in to the Flotr Partner app (an agency owner, a manager or a captain) can delete their own login in the app. This is separate from closing the agency, which is explained below.

  • Open the Flotr Partner app and tap Profile. Under Danger zone, tap Delete my account, then confirm.
  • If you have not finished registering, or your agency is waiting for approval or is paused, the same button is on the screen you see after signing in, at the bottom.
  • If Flotr has updated its terms and the app is asking you to agree, you can also delete your login from that screen without agreeing.

You are signed out on every phone straight away and the login can no longer be used. It is deleted permanently 30 days later. If you sign in again before then, the deletion is cancelled and your login is kept.

If you own an agency that Flotr has approved, or an agency that has money on Flotr, your request goes to the Flotr team first, so that someone else can run the agency or it can be closed properly. You can keep using the app until they approve it; the 30 days start then.

When the login is deleted permanently, we erase your name, email address, profile photo and notification token, and unlink your Google or Apple sign-in. Signing in with the same Google or Apple account later starts a new, empty login. Departures that were assigned to you go back to the agency. The agency's own records (trips, bookings, payouts and documents) stay, as described under "What happens when an agency is closed".

Close an agency account

An agency account is closed by the Flotr team rather than instantly, because the agency may have travellers booked on upcoming departures.

In the Flotr Partner app

  • Open Profile.
  • Under Danger zone, tap Close this agency.
  • Add a reason if you want to, and tap Ask Flotr to close it. The agency owner or a manager can send this request.

Someone from Flotr will contact you before anything is closed. Departures that travellers have already paid for must be run, or cancelled under the Agency Cancellation Policy, first. The agency portal does not have this option, so use the Partner app or write to us.

What happens when an agency is closed

  • The agency and its trips are removed from the Flotr app and website, and its team can no longer use the Partner app or the agency portal.
  • Closing an agency does not delete its records. We keep the business details, verification documents, bank details, trips, bookings and payout records. Booking and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Once the agency is closed, the owner or a team member can ask us to erase their personal details. We will erase what the law does not require us to keep.

Team members

To lose access to an agency's account, delete your own login in the Partner app (above), ask the agency owner to remove you from the team, or write to us.

Ask us without the app

  • Email team@flotr.ai with the subject "Account deletion request".
  • Write from the email address on your account, or tell us the mobile number you signed in with, and say whether it is a traveller account or an agency account.
  • We will check that the request comes from the account holder before we delete anything, and we will tell you when it is done. We complete requests within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, contact our Grievance Officer, whose details are in our Privacy Policy. You can also complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
